Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found within the body and a core component of many skincare products. When injected, hyaluronic acid fillers can restore lost volume and provide skin hydration from the inside. They can also correct facial asymmetries to balance your profile.

At Six Aesthetics, we use only the highest quality products to achieve beautifully natural results that work in harmony with our patient’s features

How does it work?

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are injected into the skin to provide instant correction. Hyaluronic acid both attracts and binds water in the skin, and supports collagen and elastin fibres, providing volume and hydration

At Six Aesthetics, our preference is the premium CE marked and FDA approved brand Juvéderm.

What are the benefits?

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be used to rejuvenate a youthful appearance by replacing lost volume. Dermal fillers can help reduce creases and folds, to restore sunken cheeks and soften the appearance of jowls. In addition, dermal fillers can define and enhance facial features, such as the lips, cheeks or jawline, contour the face and correct facial asymmetries to harmonise the face.

When will I start to see the results?

The effects of hyaluronic acid fillers can be seen instantly, but swelling will also be present for the first 24-72 hours after treatment. The final result can be judged 2 weeks after treatment.

How long do results last?

Longevity may vary, but tends to last between 6 and 18 months.

Does it hurt?

We provide topical anaesthetic (numbing) cream before the procedure to minimise discomfort and Juvéderm products contain local anaesthetic.

What do I need to do before my appointment?

We recommend that you do not drink alcohol the night before your treatment and caffeine on the day of your treatment as it can increase your risk of bruising.

It is important you tell us about any skin conditions, medicines or dietary supplements during your consultation as some medicines can adversely affect the way the treatment works or increase your risk of bruising.

What do I need to do after the treatment?

Most people are able to continue with normal activities immediately after the treatment, although you may have some mild redness, swelling or bruising. Make-up should not be worn for 12 hours and you are advised to avoid aspirin, alcohol, vigorous exercise, sunbathing and extremes of hot or cold following treatment. Arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising.

Full aftercare instructions will be provided by your practitioner following your treatment.

Please contact your practitioner if you notice any skin mottling, dark/pale patches of skin, or if any redness, tenderness, itching or swelling worsens after 3 days.

Is it safe?
