Consultation: We will start with a detailed consultation to ensure this treatment is right for you and to talk through the expected results. If you decide to proceed with the treatment, a cooling off period is always offered.
Treatment: Appointments are 30 minutes in duration, but much of this is assessing your facial anatomy and preparing the skin. You should be able to return to light normal activities (such as going to work) immediately after treatment. The optimum results are achieved over 2 treatments, approximately 4 weeks apart.

How does it work?
Profhilo is a skin boosting hyaluronic acid injectable treatment designed to provide beneath-the-skin hydration to improve skin texture, elasticity and overall quality. It is not a dermal filler and is not used to change or enhance the shape of the face, but to tighten, moisturise and strengthen the skin. The high strength hyaluronic acid is injected across strategic points where it gradually disperses, attracting water and stimulating collagen and elastin.
What are the benefits?

Profhilo provides deep skin hydration and offers benefits regardless of the skin type or skin tone. Plumping the skin to provide a naturally refreshed look, Profhilo helps to combat signs of skin aging including fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, crepey, dull or thinning skin and helps promote skin revujenation.
When will I start to see the results?
Most patients notice an improvement approximately 2 weeks after their first treatment and report their skin feels smoother, softer and looks fresher; but the real changes occur after 6-8 weeks.
How long do results last?
The optimum results are achieved over 2 treatments, approximately 4 weeks apart. We recommend a top-up six months after your second Profhilo treatment and six monthly going forwards to ensure the desired results are maintained.
Does it hurt?
This treatment is well tolerated by patients. As the gel disperses within the skin, only 10 injection sites are required in total (5 each side). Downtime following treatment is minimal, and most patients can return to light normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.
What do I need to do before my appointment?
We will remove your make-up in the treatment areas before the procedure and you will be advised not to reapply it for at least 12 hours after treatment in order to reduce the risk of infection or irritation at the injection sites.
We recommend that you do not drink alcohol the night before your treatment and caffeine on the day of your treatment as it can increase your risk of bruising.
It is important you tell us about any medicines or dietary supplements during your consultation as some medicines can adversely affect the way the treatment works or increase your risk of bruising.
Treatment cannot be administered if there is an active skin infection, including acne or cold sores, or if you are unwell- including colds, coughs, sore throats etc. Do contact the clinic to discuss any illness or new medicines prior to attending.
Be aware of the necessary after care advice and that your schedule allows for you to follow it.
What do I need to do after the treatment?
Most people are able to continue with light normal activities immediately after treatment. Some will have some redness, pin prick marks and possibly swelling or bruising. Any swelling and bruising may be more apparent the next day.
Make-up should not be worn for 12 hours.
You are advised to avoid alcohol, exercise and extremes in temperature for 48 hours after the treatment.
In the unlikely event of any swelling, it may worsen in the first 24 hours, and then should settle within the first few days. Cold packs can be helpful in reducing swelling. It is possible the product may feel harder or lumpy within the first 2 weeks. Tenderness should settle as swelling goes down. You are advised to avoid alcohol and vigorous exercise for 48 hours post treatment, and sunbathing and extremes of heat or cold for 14 days post treatment.
Bruising may take a few days to appear, arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising. It is advisable to avoid aspirin and alcohol for 12-48 hours after treatment.
Is it safe?
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the human body. Profhilo is made from ultra-pure hyaluronic acid without chemical-cross linking agents, reducing the risk of adverse reactions. Over 300,000 have been treated since Profhilo was founded in 2015, with no severe adverse reactions reported.
