How does it work?

Skin boosters are micro-injections of a lightweight hyaluronic acid gel with natural components (such as amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals) which aids hydration and stimulates collagen and elastin production.

What are the benefits?

The hydration and collagen stimulation help to improve skin quality, promoting a natural glow and radiance, and can provide excellent results for:

·       Prevention of premature skin aging

·       Thin, damaged skin

·       Wrinkles

·       Sun damaged skin

·       Skin laxity

·       Sagging skin

·       Lack of hydration

When will I start to see the results?

Most patients notice an improvement after the first 2 weeks and report their skin feels smoother, softer and looks fresher. Skin quality continues to improve for up to 6-9 months!

How long do results last?

Results can be visible after a single treatment, and the treatment can offer long-lasting results with minimal side effects. Three treatments 3 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results, with a ‘one-off’ treatment every 6 months for maintenance.

Does it hurt?

This treatment is well tolerated by patients. To ensure your comfort, we do apply a topical anaesthetic cream to numb the skin prior to treatment and many patients describe it as quite pleasant and relaxing.

What do I need to do before my appointment?

We will remove your make-up in the treatment areas before the procedure and you will be advised not to reapply it for at least 12 hours after treatment in order to reduce the risk of infection or irritation at the injection sites.

We recommend that you do not drink alcohol the night before your treatment and caffeine on the day of your treatment as it can increase your risk of bruising.

It is important you tell us about any medicines or dietary supplements during your consultation as some medicines can adversely affect the way the treatment works or increase your risk of bruising.

Treatment cannot be administered if there is an active skin infection, including acne or cold sores, or if you are unwell- including colds, coughs, sore throats etc. Do contact the clinic to discuss any illness or new medicines prior to attending.

Be aware of the necessary after care advice and that your schedule allows for you to follow it.

What do I need to do after the treatment?

Immediately after treatment you may notice raised blebs or bumps at the injection sites across the target area (such as across your face, neck or décolletage). For this reason, the treatment is considered to warrant some ‘down time’ and you may choose to go straight home after the procedure. These bumps will improve and most find they have gone by the following day, however it is possible they may still be visible for a few days afterwards. Make up can be worn from the following day.

You are advised to avoid alcohol, exercise and extremes in temperature for 48 hours after the treatment. Do not use hair dyes for a week following treatment.

Only use the recommended products until the skin returns to its normal colour and the blebs have dissipated, then usual skincare may be resumed. An SPF of at least 30 should be worn daily during the course of the treatment.

Is it safe?

Skin boosters are formulated with extensively tested, high quality compounds and are considered a safe and well tolerated procedure in trained hands.
